Honours to Marr in one-sided match

For the second game in succession the Under 18s won their match before half time with a convincing win over local rivals Carrick by 64-0.

Carrick kicked off and straight away Marr ran at them and went over for an unconverted try by Drummond. From the restart some excellent support play and offloads with almost the entire pack involved ended with Ethan Reilly touching down for try number two. Beckwith added the two points.

The support work and offloads was to be a real feature in Marr's play today and some excellent handling put O'Leary in for a try converted by Beckwith. Murray Blair then went over for try number four with Beckwith again adding the two points. 26-0 and, other than restarts, Carrick hadn't touched the ball.

Further scores were added by O'Leary (2), Brown, Rodger and Light with Beckwith successful with a further 3 conversions to make the score 64-0.

At this point the referee blew an early end to the half with the score exceeding sixty points.

A further ten minutes were played as a 'development' match during which time Marr scored three times through Mcdonald, O'Leary and Beckwith with Beckwith successful with all three converssions.

Marr now play away to Grange in the second round of the cup on Wednesday before entertaining Queen Victoria School at the College playing fields next Saturday.
