Trinity Academy final hurdle before Murrayfield
In pretty dreich conditions Marr Under 18s entertained Ardrossan Schools knowing that a win would reward them with a Schools Plate semi final away to Trinity Academy.
Marr started brightly and from the kick off Mackenzie Smith put in a huge hit on the Ardrossan catcher forcing a turnover. Marr went through a number of phases before O'Leary went over for the first score,
Further scores came in the first half from Sandy Morgan following a quick tap penalty, Kyle McCulloch after a Rollo Press break from half way and Keir MacDougall round the side of a ruck following a number of forward drives. Paterson was successful with one conversion making the half time score 22-0.
Marr scored four more tries in the second half through Ethan Reilly, Jack Bray and Rollo Press (2). Paterson kicked all four conversions to make the final score 50-0.
There is much work to do before the semi final tie but there can be no lack of incentive with a final at Murrayfield awaiting the victors.
