Marr too strong in local derby fixture.

Marr U18s travelled over to Rozelle to play Carrick in rather damp conditions which were slippery underfoot. Due to a shortage in Carrick players Marr 'loaned' four of their squad, which were rotated to make up .the numbers. This provided players with more game time begore next weeks match against Kelvinside Academy.

The early pressure was on the Carrick line and eventually after Marr won turnover ball Sean Nicholl sliced through for the first score. Paterson converted. 7-0 to Marr.

Marr's second score resulted from turnover ball won in their own 22. Good passsing put O'Leary into space. As the full bak approached he kicked the ball ahead and won the race for the touch down. Paterson was again successful with the kick. 14 – 0.

The next score was a forwards try. Good lineout ball was driven and as the Carrick defence disintegrated Mackenzie Smith dived off for try three. Good hands along the back line then provided wing Evan Light to score in the corner. A scrum pick up released scrum half Keir MacDougall to run in from 30 metres. And finally some excellent continuity play allowed Rollo Press to score in the corner. All four tries being unconverted Marr went into half time 34-0 up.

Marr continued their scoring in the second half. First Evan Light cut a good line, after ball won at the lineout, to go over for his second try. Patersons conversion made it 41-0. A quick tap penalty then enabled O'Leary to go over. For his second score. Another breakout from their own half provided Andrew McDonald with the opportunity to score in the corner. The final score showed excellent support play again as Marr countered from their own half with O'Leary touching down for his third try. This was converted by Paterson to make the final score 58-0.

Next weeks match is Marr's final home game of the season as they entertain Kelvinside Academy. A useful workout today but Marr know that next weeks match will be a much tougher proposition.
