Marr S1 vs Ayr Match Report

This game was a big step up from the match the previous week as Ayr are always a strong side with a large squad to select from. Additionally, they seemed to have done a lot more scrummaging work over the summer than us and our scrum was permanently under pressure. The Marr players lifted their game from the previous week’s (easier) start and competed very well in a hard match. The final score was 8-3 to Ayr (2 tries to 1) with Scott Grassom getting a very well worked try for Marr. It would have been closer but unfortunately the ref had to blow up for a serious injury to an Ayr player as Harry headed for the posts. The game gave us a good idea of the standard we should be playing to and we know there is plenty to work on.
