Rotary Club of Troon supports Marr Rugby

The Rotary Club of Troon is committed to helping and improving the lives of others. They do this in a variety of ways including supporting local groups that are working within the local community.

On Saturday 19 August 2017 we were delighted to welcome Heather McGuffie, Past President of Rotary Club of Troon, to Fullarton where she presented a cheque for £500 to
David Christian, Convener of Marr Rugby’s Minis.

Heather said “I was delighted to present a cheque today to Marr Rugby Club on behalf of the Rotary Club of Troon. We knew that Marr Rugby was doing wonderful work in getting young people involved in sport and learning and developing from this and watching the training today I was gobsmacked at those kids' enthusiasm for rugby.

On behalf of Marr Rugby, David said “We are very pleased and grateful to get this support from the Rotary Club of Troon and want to thank them for this generous donation. It means we will be able to do a bit more as we give opportunities for young people to be involved in, enjoy and learn from playing rugby.”

The donation will be used to help finance the work the club is doing in developing skills and qualifications of volunteer coaches and providing training equipment and facilities.

We also run Marr College’s School of Rugby initiative and provide inputs on rugby to every local primary school.

If you are interested in finding out more or becoming involved in playing please contact David Christian, Minis Convenor or Callum Harris, Marr Rugby development officer.
