MARR 1ST XV versus KIRKCALDY TENNENTS NATIONAL DIVISON 1 Kick Off 2PM

Marr welcome the men from Fife to Fullarton for a festive rugby bash.

Marr will be extremely eager to maintain their momentum this Saturday when they entertain National league 1 newcomers, Kirkcaldy.

Earlier on in the season Marr, won on their trip to the Kingdom of Fife 41 points to 17. However Marr head coach Craig Redpath will not be resting on his laurels and I am sure that he will be pointing out that Kirkcaldy were certainly no push over.

The first match in September looks like a fairly comprehensive win for Marr. However on that day Marr were ruthless in taking every opportunity that they created and Kirkcaldy certainly got their fair share of the ball.

Kirkcaldy are well known for having the biggest pack in the league and Marr know that they will have to fight to secure enough ball that will allow Marr’s backs the opportunity to break the Kirkcaldy defence.

With the weather forecast not looking too good, this may result in Marr having to play a much tighter game, rather than their usual expansive brand of rugby.

Craig Redpath has been forced into making a few changes from last week’s great result away to Musselburgh.

Out goes our number 8 Ben Johnston, who has work commitments and in comes the experienced Fraser Grant to replace him.

Tom Steven is also away this weekend, however the Marr faithful will be glad to see the return of Marr’s own world traveller Scott Bickerstaff, after his highly successful trips to Dubai and Barbados.
Jack Scott gets rested and in comes Gregor Paxton to the centre position with Richard Dalgleish moved to the wing.

Marr’s bench looks good as Ollie Rossi returns after working away and 2nd XV captain Josh Evans will look to come on and make his usual strong impact.

We ask all the purple and gold supporters to wrap up really well and come along and cheer on the boys, while remembering to show respect to our valued match officials and our opposing team.
