Marr Rugby’s 2nd XV gained promotion to BT Reserve National League 1 with an emphatic bonus point win against Dundee. The reward is next season to play in the top tier of reserve team rugby as they and Hawick replace Currie and Edinburgh Accies.

The big home support at Fullarton was well entertained. The 2s ran in nine tries, with Rollo Press grabbing the bonus point one, and dominated for extensive periods. It wasn’t all one way traffic. Dundee battled well and were deservedly rewarded with a bonus point try. They soaked up a lot of pressure from Marr but couldn’t live with the intensity of Marr’s attacking play which saw the home side break out several times from deep defence to counter-attack and score.

Meanwhile on the top pitch the 3rd XV had to dig deep to claw their back from behind to secure their win in a typical local derby.
