'Flying Scott' takes BT Try of the Season Award

At last night's Scottish Rugby Club Awards Dinner, Scott Bickerstaff collected the Brigadier Frank Coutts Memorial (BT) Try of the Season following his score against Edinburgh Accies in BT National League Division 1.

Scott's effort was one of eight BT Try of the Month's considered in a public vote and then by an expert panel who made the final selection of the best try scored in all leagues during season 2016/17.

For Scott's score, those on the touchline were able to enjoy another Purple and Gold magic moment from a team effort that provided an attacking opportunity which Scott executed to perfection.

This was one of 19 league tries scored by Scott during the campaign.

Marr Rugby is all about providing the opportunity for players, coaches and supporters to participate in and enjoy high quality rugby played at the highest level.

As well as Scott's 19 tries, the club took the second and third place for top try scorers with Conor Bickerstaff (19) and Ben Johnston (18).

Marr Rugby's 2nd XV had an even better match score ratio - scoring on average 52 points in each match whilst conceding on average only seven points.
