Marr Rugby is a community club providing access to high quality and high performance or social rugby opportunities for players, coaches and spectators from Troon and its surrounding area.
We have three senior teams and a youth section covering Minis Rugby from P1 to P7 (age 5 - 11 years) and Youth Rugby covering all secondary school ages and stages. We have over 600 people involved in sport.
In partnership with Scottish Rugby and South Ayrshire Council we run Marr College’s School of Rugby initiative and provide inputs on rugby to every local primary school. This is led by our development officer, supported by an assistant and our team of volunteer coaches. Our youth rugby focus has twin aims 1) support and improve the wellbeing & development our young people & 2) provide a pathway into adult rugby and opportunity to play at the highest possible levels.
During 2017/18 and following promotion the previous season our three senior teams will play in the following leagues:
- 1st XV: BT Premiership (the top 10 club sides in Scotland)
- 2nd XV BT National Reserve League 2 (the top 20 club sides in Scotland)
- 3rd XV: BT West Reserve League Division 2
At the end of season 2016/17 the 1st and 2nd XV's were promoted as Champions and the 3rd XV promoted as runners-up.
