S2 v High School of Glasgow

The score line does not quite reflect the performance with the match much closer that it looks. We started the match slow and conceded an early try but straight from the restart we applied pressure pushed them deep into their 22 and forced them into a handling error that we capitalized on to score. The match was now being played between the 2 10 mtr lines with both teams cancelling each other out. The breakthrough came for them from a ruck 5 mtrs out where a staggered defensive line created a hole which resulted in a try under the posts. This was quickly followed by another try which left the half time score 12-3.
In the second half we were by far the better team with both teams scoring 2 try’s to make the final score 20-10.
The difference between the teams was that the High School was clinical when they had the opportunities and we had 2 or 3 try scoring opportunities that we did not take.
In all areas of play we are continuing to improve and if we can stem the lapses in concentration and become a bit sharper in attack the results will come.
This must go down as one of our best performances this season.
