MARR v GHA

Ross on the charge against GHA

Match Preview
GHA versus MARR 1ST XV TENNENT’S NATIONAL DIVISION 1 at Braidholm KO 3PM

GHK versus MARR 3RD XV TENNENT’S WEST RESERVE LEAGUE 1 at Anniesland KO 3PM

MARR NOW AT BUSINESS END OF THE LEAGUE.

Marr’s 1st XV fate this season lies solely in their own hands. It is now the business end of the league with only four matches left. I am sure the coaching staff will have looked at GHA away and will know that this is always a tough fixture.

Marr does have a very good record against our near neighbours, only losing once in 7 fixtures, however the matches are always highly competitive and always close fought affairs.

We welcome back into the team Colin Sturgeon, who will take his place at his usual stand-off position. Also back is Richard Dalgleish who takes Scott Bickerstaff position on the wing. Scott is playing international rugby at the world sevens in Las Vegas for Tiger rugby.
In the pack we welcome back highly experienced Fraser Grant into the second row, with Dan Law moving to wing forward. Our replacements are strong and can boast three centurions in their midst.

GHA sit third in the table and will be looking to secure their position in next year’s Premiership, so they have much to play for.

Marr will have their usual large travelling support and the team will be looking to them to make lots of noise in their support.

It is not known whether our head coach will be in attendance, as Craig is still recovering from his knee operation. I am sure that we all would like to wish Craig a speedy recovery.
Experienced coach Kenny Diffenthal will be in charge of the boys.

The second XV have failed to raise a team as there is an under 18 tournament on.
The third XV travel to GHK and will hope to get a favourable result.
