Sad News - Scott Grant (RIP) - Appreciation and funeral information - prepared by Andy Mathieson
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share news of the passing of our dear friend, Scott Grant, who has left us far too soon at the age of 44.
Scott was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and the heart and soul of his family business while a coach and team mate to many at Marr Rugby.
Scott joined the club around 2012 after spending some time teaching PE at secondary school down south where he also played for Bedford Blues RFC. Scott loved the game and was an absolute power of strength on the pitch, with many man of the match performances for Marr’s 2nd and 3rd XVs.
More recently Scott dedicated much of his time to coach his daughter’s rugby team helping them along to their recent success in the SPEN Energy championship title at Scotstoun Stadium.
Rugby was his passion but above all else he was family man and was loved by so many people who knew him.
This season's 3rd XV player of the year trophy was dedicated to his memory.
