Aberdeen Grammar versus Marr 1st XV Tennent’s Premier Division K.O 145PM AWAY
Ayr Millbrae versus Marr 2nd XV Tennent’s Reserve League 1, K.O 2PM AWAY
This weekend Marr are looking to get back on track, as they face the long bus journey North to face resurgent Aberdeen Grammar.
Last week Aberdeen surprised everyone with a fine victory against high flying Glasgow Hawks 38 points to 13.
So, Marr will be under no illusions that this will be a tough encounter.
Head coach Craig Redpath will also be making the players aware that as we are now second in the Tennent’s Premier Division, with only three points separating us from Hawick and Edinburgh Accies, that bonus points will be vital, as we strive for a home tie in the play-offs.
There are a couple of changes in the starting line up for Marr. Jordan McLean starts at second row, after impressing last week against Chieftains. Rory Jackson moves back to his familiar back row. Jamie Drummond drops out of the team.
In the three quarters, Dougie Steele takes his place at full back with Greg Montgomery moving to wing. This is due to Marr winger Jack Scott picking up an injury during last week’s match.
Marr’s bench is strong with the return of Ben Johnston and centre Scott McDonald. Both will be looking to come on and make an impact.
An important trip north and the team will have to be focused and ready for the tough physical challenge that Aberdeen at home always delivers on.
