The Marr Rugby Summer Ball took place last Saturday at the town hall.
It has been hailed by all, a great success.!
The evening started with Marr's Young piper Andrew Pattison piping all guest in, followed by a great solo of 'Scotland the brave' and 'Highland Cathedral' this received a rousing round of applause. After the piping and bubbly reception there was the welcome speech by Marr President Stephen Allam, who introduced the Marr faithful to the new summer signings.
The food was provided by Michael O'Neil our very own club caterer. His menu has had great revues.
Marr's guest of honour was D'arcy Rae of Glasgow Warriors, who received a life time membership. [This has only been awarded 3 times before] . This was awarded after D'arcy received his first cap for Scotland in last springs six nations against Ireland.
The evening ended with some 'interesting dance moves' as we all danced the night away to the local legendary band 'Escapade'.

I would like to thank all the people that made the evening successful. Caroline Smyth, Katie Craig, Laurie Scott, Mike O'Rourke, Gregor Ness, Michael O'Neil and his team, Marr's own young guns for providing table service, Jamie McGhee for providing excellent bar service and of course Marr's very own super fan Mary Anne O'Rourke!
Lastly we would also like to thank the companies that very kindly donated prizes for the auction and raffle: Granny Smiths, Lesley McDonald Hair and Beauty, Pilates by Gillian, TR Bonnyman Son & Co ltd, 'Foood ' Michael O'Neil and Glasgow Warriors.
Next weekend we start our season in a Scottish Cup match against Aberdeen Grammar, this is a 3pm kick off and is away from home.
