In their opening competitive match of the season, Marr Rugby’s 1st XV progressed to the next stage of the Scottish Cup following a win at Rubislaw against a tough and tenacious Aberdeen Grammar side that will cause real challenges to visiting clubs during the forthcoming league season.

It took almost an hour for Marr to finally breakdown Aberdeen’s defence and get on to the front foot. Marr's new recruits impressed, with Greg Montgomery grabbing a brace of tries.
