Scottish Cup Quarter Final: Currie Chieftains 10 - Marr Rugby 27

After a mighty performance Marr Rugby's 1st XV progressed to the semi-final stage of the Scottish Cup, earning a mouth watering local derby tie at Millbrae against Ayr. This will be played on 15 April. We are scoping out options for having supporters buses available for the Purple and Gold army - watch this space.

Many outside Fullarton had pre-determined that Saturday would see Currie Chieftains comfortably win. We know Marr relish in causing upset and the players and coaches did what they do best - they prepared well and delivered on the day. Despite going 10 points down Marr stuck to their game plan and some excellent defensive work kept Currie on a short lease and set the platform for the fight back. Marr's pack was able to dominate and set the ideal platform to allow us to take control and manage the match. Critically, this included preventing Currie adding to their tally during the second half.

It was great to see the return of Harry Murray and Andrew Acton and also the 1st debuts of Murray Blair and David Craig.
