Marr Rugby senior fixtures (22.10.2022)
Tennent's Premiership: Jed-Forst RFC v Marr Rugby

Note - Marr Rugby's 2nd XV match v Hamilton RFC declared a 28-0 win for Marr as Hamilton were unable to field a team.

Marr Rugby 1st XV preview: It's been a tough season so far for Marr's players, coaches and supporters. Great performances and results have been overshadowed by inconsistencies. Last week's efforts and commitment against a strong Selkirk side, that defended well and took almost every opportunity presented, came to nothing as we failed to convert some cracking play into scores.

The players and coaches have reflected on the performances to date and identified what is needed to improve. Targets have been reset and Saturday provides the first opportunity to show that progress is being made.

It'll be a big test as the Royal Blues are a tough outfit to beat, especially at home and there continues to be the added edge of competitiveness that has seen Marr in recent season spoil Jed-Forest's big days.

For four of Marr's squad, it will be a first taste of the welcome that awaits at the cauldron that is Riverside Park. The full squad know they need to step up a gear and play for the full 80 with the sense of purpose, commitment and energy that they are able to deliver. Jed pose a significant attacking threat that needs to be controlled and Marr's set piece play needs to be on the money to provide a decent platform from which to attack.

With 11 1st XV squad players unavailable the opportunity for younger players is presented. Marr also tap into their reserve strengths, including a recall for Stephen Adair who joins the bench to ensure Marr can have front row cover. Andrew Acton , Gordon Reid and Greg Montgomery make timely returns from injury, and Curran McMillan is welcomed back after work commitments (Army) demanded his attendance elsewhere.

Marr know what is needed to make it a Purple and Gold day and the players are going to give it a go.

Marr Rugby 3rd XV preview: Following their promotion, the Mighty 3s continue to make a positive impact in West 2. Their detractors are now hiding in the shadows. A gutsy performance last week brought a win, away from home, against the league leaders. This narrowed the gap and the 3s are now well placed to continue to challenge for the top spots.
