Marr will travel with confidence after their performance last year.

Marr prepare for last years semi final
Marr Rugby are privileged to be playing this Saturday at the historic Melrose 7’s
Marr will travel full of confidence to the historic village of Melrose to play in the tournament that has been held since 1883.
Last year, I am sure that you will remember, Marr fought hard to reach the semi-finals where they were beaten in the last seconds of the match by eventual winners Watsonians. In that tournament Marr knocked out, Kelso, Poland, and Glasgow rivals GHA.
This year we play in the fourth match in the first round, yet again against Kelso. If we are victorious in that match we face USA Tiger rugby. This is a USA select team that our very own Scot Bickerstaff has played for a few times before!
Marr’s 7’s coach Kenny Diffenthal is pleased with the training that the lads have been putting in and he has chosen his squad of 10 to travel.

We welcome back last year’s captain Angus Johnson, who we all know is a very good sevens player.
The Marr team looks strong, with Conor, Scott and Colin gaining huge 7’s experience with the Projecx Water Boys and Ross being an ex-Scotland 7’s player.
The Marr bus will leave at 8am Saturday and as usual Marr are taking their very large support along too!
If you can’t make it to Melrose you will be able to catch all the action live on BBC2 Scotland.
