It's been a busy couple of weeks for our U12 & U14 Girls squads, being part of Scottish Rugby Evolution Series Events on back to back weekends.
Last week the Girls travelled to Edinburgh for an East region festival and on Sunday they hosted the Glasgow South event at Marr College Playing Fields. Both were a great opportunity for our squads to get plenty of game time and test themselves against teams from all over the country.

U12 Report
Marr U12 Girls enjoyed a great morning at the South Glasgow Festival with strong opposition from a combined Ayr / Bishopton / Carrick team.
The Marr Girls were quickly into their stride, attacking with purpose against a physical defence through a combination of direct runners then looking to move the ball quickly out to wide channels.
In defence Marr were tested by their opponents but stuck in well. Plenty of completed tackles presented the girls with regular opportunities to turn the ball over which they exploited well, quickly turning defence into incisive counter-attacks.
The very competitive games were undoubtedly the girls’ toughest test of the season so far but the coaches were delighted with the way they rose to the challenge, working well as a team both with & without the ball, scoring some stunning tries along the way.

U14 Report
The U14’s had a great day at the South Glasgow Festival with a number of teams attending making the competition at a high level.
The girls were placed into pool 1 with teams like Cumnock Reds, Bishopton/Paisley and Lochaber and the games were full of both physicality and skill, it was great to watch. The girls have been working on their passing skills to attack the defence and it was obvious to see that there understanding was coming through as their attack play was incredible. On defence the girls did excellent to work hard for 15 mins each game. Making tackle after tackle and making a great attempt to win the ball back in the jackal.
Overall the girls were excellent and the future for this U14’s side is growing with each training session and game. The Girls and Coaches are looking forward to the next event.
