9 youth and 3 senior teams were in action on Saturday.

Saturday was always going to be a big day for the club with the 1st XV bringing Premiership Rugby back to Fullarton and with this in mind the Development team worked closely with the Mini section to provide a fun filled day for it's members.

On Saturday morning more than 25 1st & 2nd XV players attended Mini training and assisted coaches in the delivery of their sessions. Marr 1st XV Captain Conor Bickerstaff announced Hattie Young would be our first Mascot of the season and that the P1 team would provide the guard of honour for the 1st XV match against Mussleburgh. All mini parents were provided with 2 free match day tickets for the 1st XV match and mini players were encouraged to come along and cheer on the Senior lads wearing their Purple and Gold.

With all of this going on at Fullarton it would have been easy to forget what other action was happening but not to be out done the Youth section fielded 9 teams on Saturday morning in fixtures against High School of Glasgow. This included our Primary 6&7 teams, two S1 teams and two U18 teams. A fantastic effort with over 135 youth players in action.

It was also a special day for our U16 squad, following their fantastic victory over High School of Glasgow in the morning were invited onto the field at half time of the 1st XV match to show off the silverware from their drawn West Youth Cup Final against GHK. They were also conducting a bucket collection for their Canada 2020 tour.

It was a fantastic day on the field for the clubs Senior sides with 1st, 2nd and 3rd XVs all picking up wins and more than 60 players pulling on the Purple and Gold. Add to that the 120 kids at Mini training and the 135 youth players playing competitive rugby against High School of Glasgow the future looks bright!
