Marr College Playing Fields
(k.o.7pm)

IMPORTANT - CAR PARKING - If travelling by car to watch the match PLEASE PARK in the SCHOOL MAIN CAR PARK and WALK across to the playing fields from there.

Marr Rugby's 2nd XV start Marr Rugby's big weekend of rugby action on Friday evening when they welcome Ayr to play under floodlights at the College Playing Fields.

Coaches Keith Dunsmuir and Gordon McMillan are hoping that their squad can build on recent improved performances but it's a big test for the home side playing against high flying Ayr who are challenging for top spot.

With eight matches left Marr still have the opportunity to make a mark in this first season in the top reserve league. It's important for the overall club devlopment that the club's sides are able to particpate at the highest levels and stretch themselves to improve.

The weekend's action continues on Saturday morning as the school sides complete their fixtures in the Barbarian Conference with derby matches against Ayr/Welligton. With Marr College, Ayr/Wellington, Morrisons Adademy and Queen Victoria School in a tight race to the finish line, the results from Saturday's five matches involving Marr's S1 to U18 sides will determine the outcome and see if Marr can make it back to back Conference wins.

The U18's kick-off at 9.30 am at the College Playing Fields with the rest of the matches at 10 am.

The feast of rugby continues into the afternoon with the 1s travelling to Mayfield to play Dundee while at Fullarton the 3s play host to GHA Lions. Match previews to follow.

Later on Saturday, for those not heading to Mayfield or Murrayfiled you can watch the Scotland and other matches on the biggest screen in Troon at the Marr Rugby clubhouse.

Finally - on Sunday an U18 squad is travelling to play Oban in the youth club league. It's fair old trek for our young players and their parents but keep in mind Oban and many other clubs in remote locations make away trips on a much more regular basis than what we face. Well done to all involved.

Enjoy your Purple and Gold action!
