Business end of the season begins

11 games down, 11 to go!

We have reached the half way point in our first ever season in the 2nd tier. Currently sitting 8th in the table with 24 points having won 4, lost 6 and drawn 1.

In September in our first league outing we travelled to Mayfield and put in a good performance but ultimately went down 35-17 to a Dundee side in fine form. Scrum-half Andy Dymock (Scotland Club & Scotland 7s) ran the show with experienced campaigner Alan Brown (Scotland Club, Glasgow Warriors, Barbarians) leading a strong pack.

This is going to be a cracker and a win would keep us moving away from the dreaded relegation zone. Dundee hammered GHA at Braidholm last week and Marr will have to be on top form to get a result. Hope to see a massive crowd at Fullarton for what is our biggest game of the season so far. 2pm KO

To team news and the only change from last week's starting team sees Stuart Howie drop out through injury with Johnny McClung back in the centre. Scott Bickerstaff returns to the wing and Aaron Rankin is back in the squad for the first time since October.

Phil Siave (injury) Stuart Howie (injury) & Angus Johnston (injury) are all unavailable for selection.

Elsewhere the 3rd XV travel to Dalziel for league action & the college sides take on St Columbas.

The College U18s will play in what will be the last ever game on the 1st XV pitch at the playing fields. This is due to a brand new 3G pitch being installed, with construction starting early January. One of the best pitches in Scotland, which Edinburgh private schools would frequently come down to train on, has had many internationalists grace the turf as well as Marr sides for the last century. It is a 10am KO and would be great to see a big support on the touchline.

Your club needs your support! Get down to Fullarton this Saturday
