Marr Rugby's 1st XV 7s squad's first ever appearance at the Greenyards was another milestone and chapter to add to club history. A healthy number of Marr supporters were in the 10,000 strong crowd and they enjoyed performances that had many of the other sides supporters getting behind Marr.

A win against premiership side Stirling County saw Marr progress to the televised rounds and they were unlucky to just miss out progressing to the quarter-finals as Heriots came from behind to score a final play try to take the match by a single point (22-21).
