Marr Mini's Update

All

Unfortunately we had to cancel last Sunday's matches against Ayr due to the weather forecast. Fingers crossed that the weather is kind to us for the rest of the season and Marr Tournament.

Well done to the mixed P5 and P4 team that played at the Scotstoun Tournament before the Warriors v Ospreys game last Saturday afternoon. The Marr boys didn't make it to the final which was played at half time of the Pro 12 match but they did get to be guard of honour for the Warriors players coming out of the tunnel for kick off.

This Saturday

Training for the P3 to P7’s is at Fullarton this Saturday at the usual times - 10am until 12pm. P1 and P2’s will still be at Marr College from 10:15am to 11:30am (last Saturday before going back outside).

If there are any kit requests please email them to minimarrs@hotmail.co.uk.

This Sunday 1st March - Stirling v Marr and West P3-7 at (Away)

This Sunday we are away to Striling with West also attending. Stirling have asked us to bring only 1 team at each age group. While non-tournament matches should be designed to involve as many as possible, with 2 guests and catering for all to be done, we must respect our hosts’ wishes. Therefore, each age group will advise regarding team selection separately so any queries please speak to your own child’s coaches. If not selected this time round there are plenty more matches to come.

Kick-off is at 11am and we hope to be there by 10.15 to change and warm-up in good time.

For those meeting at Marr, please be there for 9am to leave in time.

For those travelling direct, Stirling’s address is:

Stirling County Rugby Football Club
Bridgehaugh Park
Stirling
FK9 5AP

It’s off the A9/Causewayhead Road just over the river but here’s the link to their website:

www.stirlingcounty-rfc.co.uk/contact-us/#locationmap

If selected to play please bring the usual stuff: kit, boots, gumshield, training top/trousers/spare clothes (if the weather looks bad), water/juice and a wee snack. Stirling will provide food after the games.

We should be finished the matches by about 12.30.

Marr Tournament - Sunday 22nd March

Our own tournament is on Sunday 22nd March.

All age groups from P3-P7 are involved and at the moment we have teams from 6 other clubs attending. The competition follows a round robin format with a shield for the winners and medals for all players.

We are looking for sponsors to help cover the cost of the event:

We produce an A5 programme and ask local firms to advertise in it. If your company or your employer wants to advertise then we ask £50 for a half-page advert and £100 for a full-page ad.
We also look for individuals to sponsor the match balls (2 per age group). £10 per ball.

If you, your company or your employer wants to advertise, sponsor a match ball (or 2 !) then please contact us at minimarrs@hotmail.co.uk .

Catering is done by all the age groups, the idea being that if everyone does an hour or so then everyone can also get a chance to go and see their child/children play.

We will also appreciate lots of home baking (made or bought !).

More details over the next few weeks.
