2nd XV get the honour of the inaugural match on GHA's brand new 3G pitch

Grant Baird a welcome return!

Tonight Marr's 2nd XV take on GHA at Braidholm in a historic match.

GHA rugby club from the south side of Glasgow have invested heavily in a new 3G pitch that also has the use of floodlights.

It is indeed a great honour for Marr 2nd XV to be asked to play on the grand opening, when they take on high flying GHA in the TENNENTS NATIONAL PREMIER RESERVE LEAGUE tonight at 7 30 pm.

Marr will pick from a strong squad that you can view below.

There are some very interesting names within the squad! Notably, centurion Grant Baird puts on his boots for the first time this season & former 1st XV captain Angus Johnston makes a return from his work commitments. Also our promising young wing forward Rollo Press makes an appearance after a few months out. Fullarton favourite & centurion Kyle Vallance makes his first appearance of the year after completing his fire fighting training.

In addition, two well known players Richard Dalgleish and Tom Steven will bolster the back line as they return from short breaks. Mackenzie Pearce was also set to return from his suspension however has picked up a knock in training which will hold him back until Kirkcaldy next Saturday.

All in all this looks to be an exciting team selection that will surely test GHA to the full.
Please, Marr faithful , make the short trip north for a 7 30pm kick off to cheer on the boys!

Tomorrow at 2pm Marr's under 18's face West of Scotland at Fullarton with the team being given the chance to play on the 1st XV pitch. So please come up and support our very promising boys and enjoy looking at the future stars of Marr Rugby!

The 3rd fixture against Dalziel has been called off as Dalziel has failed to raise a team.
