D'arcy signs professional contract with Glasgow Warriors

The club are delighted to hear the news that D'arcy has signed professionally for Glasgow Warriors.

Currently on loan at Treviso, D'arcy featured for the club this year on his return from injury away to Biggar and at home to Kelso.

Having went to school at Marr College, he played in the second row for the 1st XV at the age of 15 years old (this was due to him being too young to play front row and therefore to dangerous to scrummage... despite being 110kg!)

D'arcy also played for the club throughout the junior section before moving on to Kilmarnock and Ayr.

Well done big fella! Everyone involved at Marr RFC is extremely proud.

"Rae, who is a product of Marr College, has played for Kilmarnock, Marr RFC and Whitecraigs.

He went on loan to Benetton Treviso in December and has made four appearances for the Italian side.

The 20-year-old came back to Scotstoun last month for a short spell and made his Warriors debut off the bench against Munster.

Rae has now returned to Benetton Treviso on loan until the end of the season.

D'arcy Rae said: "I'm proud to have signed my first professional deal with the club, after making my debut against Munster.

"Playing for Benetton Treviso is a great experience for me and I'm happy to have returned to Italy until the end of the season.

"I've been made to feel very welcome in Treviso and by extending my loan period it will hopefully enable me to continue to get regular game time at a high level, before returning to Glasgow in the summer."
