Mini Trip to West of Scotland 17/11/09

The minis took teams from P4. P6 AND P7 to West ,who had also invited along Strathaven at P4 and P6.
The P7 kids played 2 games against West, winning the first game comfortably 5 tries to nil. In the second game the West side got their act together and a very strong forward performance linked to good running saw them turn the tables 5 tries to 2.
The P4s defeated West rather easily, however in their game against Strathaven they came up against a very well drilled and talented side. The Marr boys however played good running rugby and prevailed 7 tries to 4.
Unfortunately the P6s could only muster 6 boys and had to borrow a West player to make it seven a side in their first game. Despite losing the first try they stuck at it and turned in a great performance of tackling, rucking and passing to win 3 -1.
In their second game they played Strathaven @ 6 a side on the widened pitch and this played into their favour, as they had too much firepower for Strathaven who nevertheless never gave in, but were overcome 10 - 0.
In their 3rd game against the second West side, despite leading 2-1 well into the match , fatigue finally got the better of them and they went down 5 -2.
However over the piece they showed that they are at last getting to grips with the P6 style of game.
