Pre Season Training Starts ....

The new season well and truly started last night (Tuesday) as the senior squad began their ’official’ pre-season training regime although, the team have not really stopped since they finished last season, with weekly sessions on a thursday night keeping everyone ticking over and they have been joined this year by some of the senior school team who have well and truly set the pace as far as fitness is concerned!

The team is looking strong this year, and through the guidance and experience of new coach Craig Redpath, the club can look forward with relish to the forthcoming season.

Retirement of Last seasons head coach and forward talisman, Kevin Pattie, as well as the irreplaceable Stewart Evans at prop will mean a new look pack will grace the brand new Corum Estate Agent and Home Reports Direct sponsored first XV jerseys this year..and seeing that they are of the tighter fitting variety, its probably no bad thing!...Although, their impact last year was tremendous, and it remains to be seen who can step up to fill their boots...

Also, devastating flanker Don Morrisson, has been persuaded to delay the hanging up of his boots for 1 more year, which comes as a huge bonus for the club as he has been one of the clubs finest players over the last 17 years...(some reckon he’s got at least 2 more years left...)

The backs will look more familiar however, with last years Old Team of Sean Little and Andrew Watson showing a new lease of life and the rest, Gault, Bickerstaff, McGee, Walker, Kirk and Bates relishing the new challenges of working with Mr Redpath...
